D’oh, Homer Simpson is in Mitt Romney’s corner and for all the wrong reasons

Who is Homer Simpson’s pick for President? Mitt Romney, d’oh.
Simpson casts his ballot for the Republican in an online clip promoting “The Simpsons” new season, which starts on Sept. 30.
But Simpson’s endorsement is not one Romney will appreciate.
“Barack Obama, I don’t know,” Simpson tells himself in the voting booth, as he debates who to vote for. “I already got one wife telling me to eat healthy. And, plus, he promised me death panels and grandpa is still alive.”
Simpson was referring to first lady Michelle Obama’s healthy eating initiatives and the bogus panels that opponents of Obamacare came up with to scare away supporters.
Then Simpson considers Romney.
“Mitt Romney? I hear he wears magic underpants,” he tells himself, referring to the religious undergarments some Mormons wear.
“I expect the leader of the free world to go commando,” says Simpson. “Plus, his horse totally choked at the Olympics. On the other hand, he did invent Obamacare.”
Simpson is correct. Romney’s horse — actually Ann Romney’s horse — performed poorly at the London Olympics. And yes, Romney’s health care reform in Massachusetts was the template for Obama’s health-care reform.
After Simpson votes for Romney, a touchscreen suddenly blares, “You can now see his tax returns.”
It is then that Simpson learns that “the government paid him taxes for five years.”
“I’ve got to tell the press!” Simpson yells before he is sucked into a tube and whisked off to a Chinese factory.
“Well, at least I’ve got a steady job,” Simpson says.
Romney, who released more of his tax returns Friday, has been accused of hiding something by opponents who’ve been beating the drum for him to release his returns.
Critics also say Bain Capital Partners, the private equity firm he founded, pioneered the practice of shutting down U.S. factories and shipping good-paying jobs to China.
